Meet the team
We at Acacia are delighted to provide exciting and professional tours of Africa to clients who come from around the world. Similarly, Acacia’s international team hails from various continents and from all walks of life. What unites us is our passion for this exciting continent.
From our helpful reservations staff in the UK and in South Africa, to our operations bases, in-country support network, and our on-the-ground drivers and tour leaders, all of our team come from Africa, or have at some point travelled, lived or worked there. Frankly, we love the place, and being experts on travel in Africa, we have in-depth knowledge about our destinations. This means we are more personable, attentive, flexible and willing to go the extra mile to both assist you with your booking, and to ensure a well-run tour in Africa.

Our resident South Africa based in London. After many years on running tours he now spends his time inspiring agents and clients in the UK and Europe about travel in Africa. -
Martin Kaesler Sales and Marketing (UK, Europe & Australia)
Martin, based in the UK takes care of Sales and Marketing across UK, Ireland, Scandanavia as well as Australia and New Zealand. Not often in the office as he's normally out promoting Acacia when he's not on the Golf Course -
Chris Mears Cape Town Manager
Chris has been at Acacia for over 9 years now, orginally in London involved in Reservations as well as Sales and Marketing he moved to Cape Town to set up and grow the office there. Taking over all things IT as well as overseeing the day to day running of the office. He has extensive travel knowledge having travelled overland from London to Harare -
Caroline O'Mahony Reservations Manager
Caroline runs our Reservations Department from our Cape Town office. Born in Canada but lived all over the world she calmly keeps the reservations wheels turning ensuring all bookings are processed swiftly and smoothly. -
Jean Macfarlane London Reservations
Jean is based in our London office and handles reservations in the UK. From South Africa originally she has been living in London for a few years now and has been with Acacia since 2006 -
Anthea Petersen Cape Town Reservations
Anthea's based in our Cape Town office and is part of our experienced reservations team. She has travelled on both Overland and Small Groups tours in Southern Africa - next stop East Africa! -
Arno Watson (AJ) Cape Town Reservations
The newest member of the Acacia Reservations team. AJ comes with experience of running tours throughout Southern Africa -
Michelle Lewis South Africa Sales and Marketing
Michelle is from Adelaide, Australia. Her passion for Africa has led her to be here for 9 years both working on the road and now settling in Cape Town, South Africa working in the marketing and sales department. -
Angus Pumpe Regional Manager Victoria Falls
Angus is our Regional Manager based in Victoria Falls and takes care of pretty much anything that is required! Running tours, meeting clients, fixing trucks, marketing tours - you name it, Angus does it! -
Zak Fouche Workshop Assistant Manager
Zak has been in the industry since 2001 from River guiding, Overland tour guiding and as a driver. He can not get enough of Namibia and says this is his favorite country! Zak is now based in Cape Town, South Africa working as the workshop assistant manager and has been here for the past year and half. -
Rebecca (Becs) Feckner Operations Manager
Rebecca was a passenger in 2005 for 5 months in Africa including Ghana and returned to Africa to follow her dreams as a tour guide. Rebecca is our Operations manager based here in Cape Town, South Africa -
Rene Neethling Operations
Rene has recently joined our operations team and is quickly becoming a very valuable member of our team! She comes with many years operations and reservations experience so knows how to deal with any problems that may arise -

Kenyan born Patrick has been driving overland tours for many years and has been with Acacia since 2006 -

Robert has plenty of experience having been overlanding since 2001. He joined Acacia in June 2011 -
Samantha Williams Tour Leader
Samantha was inspired to join Acacia after completing a tour as a passenger! -
Paul Karanja Driver
Paul has been with us since 2006 but has been driving overland trucks since 2001 -
Fiona Gould Tour Leader
Fiona has been with us since June 2008. Currently taking a 3 month sabattical to travel further. -
Kelly Mattin Tour Leader
Kelly was a passenger who got bitten by the Africa bug and has been tour leading since April 2011 -
Emily Bax Tour Leader
Emily, from Hobart Tazmania, got bitten by the Africa bug when travelling with us before starting in November 2011 -
TJ Le Roux Driver/Tour Guide
TJ has worked for Acacia for 6 years both with our Small Groups department and our Overland department. TJ says that his highlighted county has to be the whole continent.. you can't beat that! -
Lauren Lees Tour Guide
Lauren is a bright energetic tour guide from England. Her passions are for the whole circuit Acacia moves on from the deserts of Namibia to the beaches of Zanzibar. -
Emma Day Tour Guide
Emma is a Lawyer from Cambridge, UK and has been working for Acacia since April 2010. She thinks Namibia rocks due to the vast landscape but most of all she loves living life on the wild side jumping out of planes skydiving and tackling grade 5 rapids. -
Tony Gitau Driver / Guide
Tony is from Nairobi, Kenya and has been working as a driver for Acacia since September 2007. He believes That the game drives in Tanzania's Serengeti and Ngorongoro crater are the best! -
Richard Poolman Driver/Guide
Born and raised in Namibia's capital Windhoek. Richard has been working for Acacia and travelling around Southern and Eastern Africa for the past 3 years. He favorite African country is Uganda due to the people, scenery and the Mountain Gorilla's. -
Samuel Mutuku Tour guide
Born and raised in Kenya Sammy has been working for Acacia Africa for the past 4 ˝ years. He thinks that Namibia’s red desert dunes and the lush beaches of Southern and Eastern Africa are worth travelling to Africa for. His has a huge soft spot for Uganda purely for the people, magnificent scenery and the mountain Gorilla’s.
