This, he stated, was the beginning of burning all of Kenya&#8217;s illegal ivory stockpiles in the course of the year.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"\/blog\/?attachment_id=3261\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-3261\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-3261\" alt=\"Sierra Exif JPEG\" src=\"https:\/\/acacia-africa.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/03\/Ready-for-an-afternoon-dip-Samburu-Game-Reserve-Kenya.jpg\" width=\"460\" height=\"345\" \/><\/a>Elephant poaching is a major concern across the continent, one wildlife group claiming that 100,000 elephants were killed in Africa from 2010 to 2012, but Kenya\u2019s deliberate act of defiance sends out a clear statement to poachers.<\/p>\n<div><a href=\"\/blog\/?attachment_id=2714\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-2714\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-2714\" alt=\"Elephant_2\" src=\"https:\/\/acacia-africa.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/06\/Elephant_2.jpg\" width=\"460\" height=\"306\" \/><\/a><\/div>\n<div>Before setting the pile of tusks alight the President Kenyatta said, &#8220;Many of these tusks belonged to elephants which were slaughtered by criminals. We want future generations of Kenyans, Africans and the entire world to experience the majesty and beauty of these magnificent beasts.
