Situated on the north western corner of the African continent, Morocco is just an hour's ferry ride from southern Spain however on arrival it feels very different from Europe with a very traditional and Islamic Culture.
Dispite years of French and Spanish colinial rule and inspite of the modern cities of Casablanca and Rabat a more distant and traditional past is often felt.
Morocco's climate can get blisteringly hot in the desert south so probably best to avoid visiting in the peak summer months. During Winter, the days are very plesant however with the clear desert skies the nights become cold quickly. In the Atlas mountains it is also possible to ski during the winter months.
