This short tour from Cape Town follows the beautiful shoreline of the Western Cape. Forests and wetlands can be enjoyed in the Garden Route’s national parks, while wildlife activities include tracking the ‘Big Five', visiting an ostrich farm, shore and boat-based whale watching in season, and the option to cage-dive with a great white shark.
Day 1 – 2 Hermanus, Cape Agulhas National Park, Oudtshoorn
Leaving Cape Town early we take lunch at Hermanus , visit a boutique brewery en route to Africa’s most southerly point, Cape Agulhas where an option to take a whale and dolphin cruise waits (in season). The following day we travel inland to Oudtshoorn and enjoy hot mineral bath and the option to ride an ostrich or cage dive to view crocodiles!
Day 3 - 4 Cango Caves, Knysna, Tsitsikamma National Park, Sundays River
After an informative guided walk of the Cango Caves we hit the famed Garden Route and travel to the picturesque seaside town of Knysna. We explore the Knyasna Heads before checking out Bloukrantz Bridge to view or jump the world’s highest bungy jump! The next day we either hike Tsitsikamma National Park to Storm Rivers Mouth or, for the more adventurous, black-water raft our way there. Our day ends with a gentle canoe on Sundays River.
Day 5 Addo NP, Port Elizabeth, J-Bay
This morning we game drive in Addo National Park renowned for its herds of elephant. After lunch we travel to Port Elizabeth and onwards to Jeffrey’s Bay. Famed for having some of the best surf waves in the world and you have the chance to hire a surf board or take a surf lesson to ride them.
Day 6 - 7 Orphaned Elephant Sanctuary, Monkeyland, Cape Town
Heading back to Cape Town we visit an Orphans Elephant Sanctuary and Monkeyland, the world’s first free roaming multi-species primate sanctuary. Our tour finishes in Cape Town in the late afternoon.
