Accommodated Overland

Recommended for ages 18-39 years
Our Overland tours are simply the best way to see Africa and are full of good company and unique experiences. Our purpose-built trucks allow us to get to Africa's best loved destinations and have all the features you would expect that make travelling by road as comfortable as can be, given the poor condition of most of Africa's roads. Our Accommodated Overland tours still keep the essence of Overlanding and combine with our camping itineraries offering the same level of excitement and adventure - but days end with a night in a comfortable lodge or tented camp.

We've selected the more superior from the accommodation available at each stop - so there's no shared dorms. We still spend the night under canvas at Spitzkoppe and on the Serengeti and Ngorongoro excursion owing to the remote locations of these spectacular highlights.

"I'll never forget that feeling of seeing the Milkyway from where I slept. "

"I wanted to experience the real Africa on an overland safari, but I'm just not a camper. The accommodation on tour was rustic in some places - but this added to the feel. Sleeping out under the stars at Spitzkoppe made me nervous at first but I'm so glad I did it! I'll never forget that feeling of seeing the Milkyway from where I slept. "

Roxy went on our Desert Tracker (19 Days) (Accommodated) tour in July 2016.

You get an epic overland safari - but with a bed every night

Accommodation in both Southern and East Africa varies from place to place, dependent on the infrastructure and settlement in different areas. Some destinations visited have high quality accommodation options complete with fluffy duvets and en-suite bathrooms where at other places it may be more basic with shared facilities. Solo travellers get matched up with same gender travellers in the same style as on our camping tours, so there's no need to worry about additional supplements once you've booked your tour.

There are of course some places where we are out in wild and natural surroundings and there simply isn't any built accommodation. We've included your tent, mattress and sleeping bag at these destinations so you'll still have a comfortable stay, and get to enjoy the essence of what makes Africa so special.

Our overland tours are participation safaris, which means you help out with the daily chores - you and your fellow overlanders will be divided into teams to help with cooking and cleaning duties on a rota system. This is great to help you get to know your fellow travellers!

We've selected the best accommodation option at each of our overnight stops - take a look at our gallery to see the different styles along the way.
