Day 1. Johannesburg to Hazyview

We depart Johannesburg this morning and travel via the region of Mpumalanga to Kruger National Park. We stay just outside of the park in Hazyview where we enjoy Shangaan tribal dancing and singing around an open fire.

Day 2. Kruger National Park Highlights. Kruger National Park, South Africa.

Waking early today we board our 4x4 safari vehicles for a full day game driving around this 24000 sq km park. Home to over 500 species of birds and almost 150 mammals there is a lot to be seen during our time here.

Day 3. Hazyview to Tshipise Highlights. Tshipise, South Africa.

We travel north away from Kruger to the town of Tshipise in the northern Limpopo province. We spend the night here with our accommodation opposite the Honnet Nature Reserve.

Day 4. Tshipise to Matobos, Zimbabwe

This morning we leave Tshipise and South Africa crossing the border into Zimbabwe and the city of Bulawayo, where our accommodation is located in the Matobos Area.

Day 5. Matobo National Park Highlights. Matobo National Park, Zimbabwe.

This morning we meet our guides who will take us on game drives and a wilderness walk in the park today. We keep any eye for the 'big 5', especially rhino as this park has the largest concentration of Black and White Rhino in Africa.

Day 6. Bulawayo to Livingstone, Zambia Highlights. Victoria Falls - Mosi oa Tunya National Park, Zambia.

We leave Bulawayo today passing through the town of Victoria Falls and crossing into neighbouring Zambia. We travel the short distance to our accommodation in the town of Livingstone, stopping en route for a visit at the magnificent Victoria falls.

Day 7-8. Livingstone Highlights. Livingstone Activities, Zambia.

These days are free days for you to experience the optional activities that are available such as - bungee jump, abseiling, game walk, village tour, gorge swing, white water rafting, bridge tour and many more.

Day 9. Livingstone to Lusaka Highlights. Lusaka, Zambia.

We depart Livingstone today and travel through the countryside to Zambia's capital city, Lusaka. This is southern Africa's fastest growing city with a population of around 1.7 million.

Day 10. Lusaka to Chipata

We leave Lusaka today and cross the Luangwa River into Chipata, the capital of Zambia's Eastern province where we spend the night.

Day 11. Chipata to South Luangwa National Park

We travel to South Luangwa National Park today home to hippo, elephants, lions, leopards, buffalo, giraffe and many more.

Day 12. South Luangwa National Park Highlights. South Luangwa National Park.

This morning relax around the pool and enjoy the hot hours of the day. In the afternoon we will meet our local ranger who will take us on game drive in an open vehicle to spot some of the wildlife in this park.

Day 13. South Luangwa National Park to Kande Beach, Malawi Highlights. Lake Malawi, Malawi.

Today we depart Zambia and cross the border into Malawi where we stay at Kande Beach for the next two nights on Lake Malawi.

Day 14. Kande Beach Highlights. Kande Beach Activities, Malawi. Lake Malawi, Malawi.

Today is a free day to experience the optional activities available here. Go on a village walk, snorkel, dive or just relax on the beach.

Day 15. Kande Beach to Chitimba Beach

Today we travel further along Lake Malawi via Mzuzu, the northern region capital and Malawi's third largest town.

Day 16. Chitimba Beach

Today you can relax on the beach or take an 11km hike to the Manchewe Falls where you can then cool off in a natural bath.

Day 17. Chitimba Beach to Iringa, Tanzania

Leaving Lake Malawi we depart the country and make the short border crossing into Tanzania. We make our way through Tanzania's southern highlands to our accommodation at the Kisolanza Farm House.

Day 18. Iringa to Dar es Salaam Highlights. Dar es Salaam, Tanzania.

We depart the farmhouse and make our way towards the Indian Ocean and the city of Dar es Salaam via the Mikumi National Park.

Day 19. Dar es Salaam to Zanzibar Highlights. Stone Town, Zanzibar, Tanzania.

Today we leave the African mainland and travel to the beautiful island of Zanzibar. We spend our first night in Stone Town where you can explore the alleyways, courtyards, palaces and mosques all by foot.

Day 20-22. Zanzibar Highlights. Zanzibar, Northern Beaches, Tanzania.

Today we transfer to the northern beaches of the island for the next three nights. The time is your own, so relax on the beach, dive or snorkel on this beautiful island.

Day 23. Zanzibar to Dar es Salaam

Today we leave paradise and retrace our journey back to the mainland and the city of Dar es Salaam where we stay for the evening.

Day 24. Dar es Salaam to Marangu Highlights. Marangu, Moshi Area, Tanzania.

We start early this morning leaving Dar es Salaam heading north to Marangu at the foot of Mt Kilimanjaro, if the weather is clear we may be lucky enough to see the snow capped peak of Africa's highest mountain.

Day 25. Marangu to Arusha

Driving past the town of Moshi out of Marangu we make our way to the city of Arusha, situated exactly mid way between Cairo and Cape Town. We spend the night in Arusha before our excursion to Serengeti and Ngorongoro Crater.

Day 26. Arusha to Serengeti National Park Highlights. Serengeti National Park, Tanzania.

We transfer to game park friendly vehicles today and travel across the Great Rift Valley entering the Ngorongoro Crater Conservation Area, passing round the craters rim onto the Serengeti Plains.

Day 27. Ngorongoro Crater

We Game drive out of the plains and en route to the craters rim where we spend the night, wrap up warm as it can get cold at night due to the high altitude.

Day 28. Ngorongoro Crater to Arusha Highlights. Ngorongoro Crater, Tanzania.

Rising early today we descend to the crater floor for a morning game drive in search of the spectacular wildlife here. All major mammals can be seen apart form giraffe who cannot manage the steep slopes to the crater floor.

Day 29. Arusha to Nairobi, Kenya

We depart Tanzania today and make our way across the Masai Steppe into Kenya and travel to Nairobi where our tour ends.

PRE TOUR ACCOMMODATION
This tour departs Johannesburg early on day 1; we strongly recommend therefore that you plan to arrive the day before
departure to overcome any jet-lag and to acclimatise to Africa. We would be happy to book pre-tour accommodation for you –
please call or email us (or speak to your agent) with your arrival details and accommodation requirements. However please
book early to avoid disappointment and the risk of having to find more expensive (or less convenient) lodgings.

ACTIVITIES & EXCURSIONS:
These are optional activities that are booked during your holiday and paid directly to the provider
while on tour. These options offer a variety of experiences and allow you the freedom to decide what
activities you would like to do.

ACCOMMODATION:
Twin share accommodation with facilities (26 nights) twin share tents with sleeping bag, pillow and
mattress (2 nights) some may be with bar or swimming pool. In the Serengeti & Ngorongoro Crater
there are basic facilities. On Zanzibar we use basic tourist class local hotels.

TRANSPORT:
24-seater, self-contained, custom-built safari truck with on-board tables, plug sockets, freezer, water
tank, library, i-pod jack, safety features and 70-litre individual lockers, 4x4 safari vehicle and fast ferry.

GAME PARK VISITS:
In order to maximise the quality of game driving and to comply with local authority rulings, some of
our National Park visits and game viewing is carried out using services provided by local African
ground handlers. As well as enhancing our experience using local guides and smaller vehicles it also
allows us to contribute at a ‘grassroots’ level to local economies from which local people benefit.
