Day 1. Johannesburg to Hazyview Highlights. Blyde River Canyon, South Africa. Bourke's Luck Pot Holes, South Africa. God's Window, South Africa.

Starting the day in Johannesburg we set off on our overland tour to Kruger National Park. On our journey we enjoy the mountain scenery of the Mpumalanga province along the Panorama route, where we stop off at God's Window to marvel at the natural beauty of the Blyde River Canyon. In the late afternoon we arrive at our camp in the small town of Hazyview, adjacent to Kruger National Park.

Day 2. Kruger National Park Highlights. Kruger National Park, South Africa.

This morning we wake early and meet our guides and the 4x4 vehicles that we will be using before setting off on a day of viewing the amazing wildlife that inhabits the Kruger National Park. Being one of Africa's largest wildlife reserves, Kruger offers an immense variety of animals, birds and reptiles to see including lion, leopard, cheetah, rhino, elephant, zebra, hippo and more. With more than 500 species of birds, and a range of natural wilderness to explore, there is much to see in this Big 5 safari reserve.

Day 3. Kruger National Park

We make our way back into the Kruger National Park this morning for a second game drive to carry on our search for the 'big 5' - elephant, lion, buffalo, leopard and rhino. We can choose to head back over the ground covered yesterday or discover a new area of the park today in search of the wildlife we have yet to tick off of our Kruger National Park bucket list. Have you spotted the African wild dogs or heard the iconic cry of the African Fish Eagle yet?

*For travellers not taking the Adventure Pass, today is free to enjoy some other activities in the Hazyview area.

Day 4. Hazyveiw to Mlilwane, Swaziland Highlights. Mlilwane Wildlife Sanctuary, Swaziland.

We continue our overland tour, travelling along the edge of Kruger National Park today to make our way to the Kingdom of Swaziland. Swaziland is landlocked between South Africa and Mozambique, with a fascinating culture and rich heritage. Arriving at Milwane Wildlife Sanctuary, our base for the next two nights is Swaziland’s oldest protected area located in the stunning Ezulwini Valley, 'Valley of Heavens’.

Day 5. Mlilwane Wildlife Sanctuary Highlights. Swaziland Cultural Village, Ezulwini Valley.

Today we make our way through the Mlilwane Wildlife Sanctuary to the Royal Enclosure to learn about the history and culture of the Swazi monarchy, after being taken by a local Swazi guide though a traditional village. Afterward we stop off at the markets en-route to admire the carvings, drawings and interesting trinkets on sale to support the local people. The afternoon is yours to enjoy some of the amazing activities on offer. Head out on a nature walk, explore on horse back or take a bike out into the grasslands. Alternatively spend the afternoon relaxing and watching the wildlife and birds as they visit the hippo pool.

Day 6. Mlilwane to Hluhluwe Reserve to St Lucia, South Africa Highlights. Hluhluwe-Imfolozi Game Reserve, South Africa.

We bid farewell to Swaziland and continue our overland adventure crossing the border back into South Africa and entering the Kwazulu-Natal province. This afternoon we make our way to Hluhluwe Imfolozi Game Reserve in South Africa's KwaZulu-Natal Province for an afternoon safari game drive. The oldest game reserve in South Africa and the former hunting ground of the great Zulu Kings Dingiswayo and Shaka, Hluhluwe Imfolozi is home to a number of mammals, birds and reptiles which we seek out on our game drive.

Our camp is in St Lucia where you have the opportunity to explore the town's vibrant nightlife.

Day 7. St. Lucia to Durban Highlights. St Lucia River Cruise, South Africa.

This morning, we enjoy a boat trip on the St. Lucia Estuary to see the magnificent birds, hippos and crocodiles found here. its then off through the rolling hills of KZN to the seaside city of Durban where our overland adventure tour ends.

Additional Info

PRE TOUR ACCOMMODATION:
This tour departs Johannesburg early on day 1; we strongly recommend therefore that you plan to arrive the day before departure to overcome any jet-lag and acclimatise to Africa. We would be happy to book pre-tour accommodation for you – please call or email us (or speak to your agent) with your arrival details and accommodation requirements. However please book early to avoid disappointment and the risk of having to find more expensive (or less convenient) lodgings.

If time allows, we also suggest planning a night or two extra (after your tour) to make the most of Durban and the surrounding area.

ACTIVITIES & EXCURSIONS:
These are optional activities that are booked during your holiday and paid directly to the provider while on tour. These options offer a variety of experiences and allow you the freedom to decide what activities you would like to do.

24-seater, self-contained, custom-built safari truck with on-board tables, plug sockets, freezer, water tank, library, I-pod jack, safety features and 70-litre individual lockers, 4x4 safari vehicle.

GAME PARK VISITS:
In order to maximise the quality of game driving and to comply with local authority rulings, some of our National Park visits and game viewing is carried out using services provided by local African ground handlers.
