Day 1. Kampala to Lake Mburo National Park Highlights. Equator. Lake Victoria, Uganda.

We leave Kampala this morning and head south west around the shores of Lake Victoria, crossing the equator and up towards the Kigezi Highlands and into the Lake Mburo National Park.

Here, we enjoy a game drive and hope to have enough time to explore the lake on a boat ride in search of hippos, crocs and birdlife.

Day 2. Lake Mburo National Park to Queen Elizabeth National Park Highlights. Queen Elizabeth National Park, Uganda.

We start the morning with a game walk in the park and follow breakfast with a game drive before venturing North to Queen Elizabeth National Park and our lodge on the Mweya peninsula overlooking Lake Edward.

This afternoon we enjoy a boat cruise in the Kazinga Channel which is a great opportunity for photographers.

Day 3. Queen Elizabeth National Park to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park Highlights. Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, Uganda.

Making the most of our time at Queen Elizabeth National Park, we start our day with a morning game drive exploring the park and hoping to enjoy some fantastic game viewing while the animals are most active.

We continue on south in the shadow of the brooding Rwenzori Mountains to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park where we prepare for our trek in the morning.

Day 4. Bwindi Impenetrable National Park Highlights. Mountain gorillas.

We are up early for our day tracking the mountain gorillas. Seeing these mighty creatures in their natural habitat is an awe inspiring experience. We are met early at the park gate by the rangers and guides who will accompany us. The trek can be strenuous through thick jungle and may take some hours to reach the family however the reward is well worth the effort.

Depending on timing we may have the time this afternoon to visit one of the local schools and villages.

Day 5. Bwindi Impenetrable National Park to Kampala

After an energetic day trekking yesterday, we have the day today travelling through the beautiful green scenery of the Ugandan countryside back to the nations capital, Kampala where we aim to arrive in the early evening.
