The rain forests of south western Uganda are home to about half of the worlds last remaining mountain gorillas, and this safari takes you for a very special wildlife encounter with these magnificent apes in their natural habitat. Day 1. Kampala to Lake Mburo National Park Highlights. Lake Victoria, Uganda.

After departing Kampala, Uganda's capital city our journey takes us along the shores of Lake Victoria towards the Kigezi Highlands and onward to Lake Mburo.

On arrival this afternoon we enjoy a game drive and possibly take a boat ride on the lake in search of game.

Day 2. Lake Mburo National Park to Queen Elizabeth National Park Highlights. Queen Elizabeth National Park, Uganda.

Lake Mburo National Park allows walking safaris which is rare in East Africa and this morning we enjoy this excursion before returning to the vehicles and heading towards the Queen Elizabeth National Park and our accommodation overlooking Lake Edward.

This afternoon we enjoy a cruise on the Kazinga Channel which connects Lakes Edward and George.

Day 3. Queen Elizabeth National Park to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park Highlights. Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, Uganda.

After a morning game driving in the Queen Elizabeth National Park with the peaks of the Rwenzori Mountains in the distance we head on south to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park in preparation for our trek to visit the mountain gorillas tomorrow.

Day 4. Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, Gorilla Trek Highlights. Mountain gorillas.

We have an exciting and strenuous day today and after our briefing we are off through the steep dense jungle slopes in search of the endangered mountain gorilla.

The trek can be hard going but the rewards are well worth the effort as we spend up to an hour with these mighty creatures.

After our time is up, we descent back to our accommodation where we might have time to explore the local area further.
