Did you know that from June through to August is the best time to visit the iconic Okavango Delta?
This is High Water Season in Botswana which means the most favourable conditions for cruising down the Delta waterways in a dug-out canoe! During this season you will find that the wildlife gather on the fringes from the Moremi Game Park to the Delta as they know too well that with water comes great vegetation and easy prey.
Travelling through Botswana, along its rustic sandy roads becomes less challenging during this time. Allowing travel time transitions to be comfortably efficient, resulting in leisurely game viewing opportunities.
Without the summer heat, the temperatures are cool and pleasant. Prompting wildlife to roam instead of seek shade in the thicket.
Considered Peak Season for good reason. The animals flock to the Delta, the mosquitoes tend to disperse and the morning & evening winter light makes for some incredible photographs!
Travel with Acacia Africa to ensure your mid-year break is worthwhile!
