WOW\u2026 what a day!<\/p>\n<p>The mother of all paint races finally hit the city of Cape Town and we were in.\u00a0 Situated on the water\u2019s edge on the promenade in Sea Point, we knew we were in for a real treat and the weather played along giving us a stunning sunny day.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_2046\" style=\"width: 458px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"\/blog\/?attachment_id=2046\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-2046\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-2046\" class=\"size-full wp-image-2046  \" alt=\"Image by: http:\/\/blink-photography.co.za\/\" src=\"https:\/\/acacia-africa.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/10\/Image-12.jpg\" width=\"448\" height=\"336\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-2046\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Image by: http:\/\/blink-photography.co.za\/<\/p><\/div>\n<p>My day started by meeting friends near the starting line. We got our white colour run t-shirts &amp; funky sweat headbands on and our colour paint sachets in hand, ready for the race.\u00a0 Our team was called the Retro Soles, so brightly coloured or white shorts with stripy socks was the chosen theme.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_2047\" style=\"width: 458px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"\/blog\/?attachment_id=2047\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-2047\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-2047\" class=\"size-full wp-image-2047 \" alt=\"Image by: http:\/\/blink-photography.co.za\/\" src=\"https:\/\/acacia-africa.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/10\/Image-23.jpg\" width=\"448\" height=\"336\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-2047\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Image by: http:\/\/blink-photography.co.za\/<\/p><\/div>\n<p>We made our way to the starting line ready for the race. As we lined up to take our turns to cross the line&#8230;with the countdown 5, 4, 3, 2, 1, the kaleidoscope of colour hit the skies and all of us at the same time.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_2048\" style=\"width: 458px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"\/blog\/?attachment_id=2048\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-2048\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-2048\" class=\"size-full wp-image-2048 \" alt=\"Image by: http:\/\/blink-photography.co.za\/\" src=\"https:\/\/acacia-africa.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/10\/Image-35.jpg\" width=\"448\" height=\"336\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-2048\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Image by: http:\/\/blink-photography.co.za\/<\/p><\/div>\n<p>With the music pumping &amp; everyone dancing to the beats, the energy of thousands and thousands of Capetonians and visitors from all over the world\u00a0 united as one was truly a spectacular sight\u00a0 &#8211; I understand why it is called the \u2018Happiest 5 km on the planet\u2019!<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_2049\" style=\"width: 458px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"\/blog\/?attachment_id=2049\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-2049\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-2049\" class=\"size-full wp-image-2049 \" alt=\"Image by: http:\/\/blink-photography.co.za\/\" src=\"https:\/\/acacia-africa.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/10\/Image4.jpg\" width=\"448\" height=\"335\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-2049\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Image by: http:\/\/blink-photography.co.za\/<\/p><\/div>\n<p>Passing through the \u2018colour wash\u2019 stations created an interesting canvas of colour \u2013 every km milestone bringing a different colour\u00a0 &#8211; Red, Yellow, Green, Blue and Purple.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_2050\" style=\"width: 458px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"\/blog\/?attachment_id=2050\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-2050\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-2050\" class=\"size-full wp-image-2050 \" alt=\"Image by: http:\/\/blink-photography.co.za\/\" src=\"https:\/\/acacia-africa.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/10\/Image-53.jpg\" width=\"448\" height=\"335\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-2050\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Image by: http:\/\/blink-photography.co.za\/<\/p><\/div>\n<p>The fun continued at the finishing line with a gigantic Colour Festival. Giving back to the community always makes these amazing festivals so much more fun!<\/p>\n<p>So looking forward to the next run!
