This is known as Cape Town\u2019s secret season.<\/p>\n<p>Cape Town is a great place to visit all year around and winter is no exception. From June to August, experience the city and its surroundings filled with warmth and excitement. Here are a few secret things to do this winter in and around Cape Town.<br \/>\n<b>Whale watching:\u00a0<\/b><br \/>\nFrom July to November the Southern Right whales come out to play, court and calves. Come and experience these majestic sea creatures in there element. This is a great family outing to be enjoyed by young and old. Catch a boat and see them up close or simply take a dive along the coast line with various whale watching stops and enjoy! For a panoramic view of the False Bay area, taking a scenic drive along Boys Drive, which runs from St. James beach all the way to Kalkbay with great spots for whale watching. Or en -route to Hermanus (a whale watchers haven) drive along Clarence drive between Gordon\u2019s bay and Rooi Els and don\u2019t the very popular Cape Point region.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"\/blog\/?attachment_id=3435\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-3435\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-3435\" alt=\"False Bay Coast\" src=\"https:\/\/acacia-africa.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/05\/False-Bay-Coast.jpg\" width=\"460\" height=\"325\" \/><\/a><b>West coast Flower route:<\/b><br \/>\nAfter the harsh winter rains towards the end of August, just as spring is ready to stick out its head this predominately dry and dull area turns into a spectacle bursting into a kaleidoscope of dazzling colours. About a 5 hour drive from Cape Town, but with signs of the flowers already in Cape Town and the nearby West Coast National Park. About 4000 flower species lay in wait, depending on the weather pattern between July and October, each year brings a different selection of flowers.<\/p>\n<p>Should you choose not to venture too far out of the city, the Protea garden at the Kirstenbosch Gardens is at its most spectacular in winter.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"\/blog\/?attachment_id=3436\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-3436\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-3436\" alt=\"Umkulu-gallery-large-201404280920411\" src=\"https:\/\/acacia-africa.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/05\/Umkulu-gallery-large-201404280920411.jpg\" width=\"460\" height=\"213\" \/><\/a><b>Red wine tasting:<\/b><br \/>\nWine tasting can be done throughout the year, but Red wine tasting is beautiful in the colder winter days, when wine estates lights their fires and welcome you into the warm and comfort of the most beautiful estates.<\/p>\n<p>Explore, taste and indulge, warming up the body from the inside.
