This safari journeys through diverse landscapes from the eerie and barren Atlantic coast and open desert to prolific game parks of Botswana and the Victoria Falls (Zambia). This quick adventure safari tour traverses across Southern Africa passing through a range of landscapes and natural highlights.
This tour is also available with an extension from Cape Town, or in reverse from Livingstone to Swakopmund.
Day 1. Swakopmund to Spitzkoppe Highlights. Spitzkoppe, Namibia.
From the hustle and bustle in Swakopmund to the calming landscapes and ever changing red shaded rock formations at Spitzkoppe. Explore the area and its ancient bushman paintings this afternoon before spending your first night out under the starry African night.Day 2. Spitzkoppe to Etosha National Park
Waking with majestic views over the rock formations, we enjoy breakfast before hitting the road north. We travel through a few of Namibia's smaller farming towns before getting to Etosha National Park.Day 3. Etosha National Park Highlights. Etosha National Park, Namibia.
Today we enjoy a full day game drive within Etosha, seeking out a variety of the park’s inhabitants. Etosha is dominated by a vast salt pan at its centre, with an array of dirt tracks surrounding the pan for us to explore.Day 4. Etosha to Windhoek Highlights. Windhoek, Namibia.
We head out of the wilderness and back to civilisation today, as we make our way to Windhoek, Namibia's capital city.Day 5. Windhoek to Omaheke Region, Namibia Highlights. Kalahari Bushman Walk, Omaheke Region, Namibia.
Heading East, we make our way to the barren lands of the Omaheke Region, close to the Botswana border.Day 6. Omaheke Region, Namibia to Maun, Botswana Highlights. Maun, Botswana.
Once a little rural town, Maun has become a thriving community and a starting destination for all wishing to visit the Okavango Delta.Day 7. Maun to Okavango Delta Highlights. Okavango Delta, Botswana.
We pack our gear into the 4x4 transfer and head for the wilds, winding our way through the outer settlements around Maun.Day 8. Okavango Delta to Maun
Waking early, we head out with the morning light on another wilderness walk to see the tracks left around camp overnight, and to enjoy the open scenes one last time.Day 9. Maun to Nata Highlights. Elephant Sands, Nata, Botswana.
Travelling further through Botswana, we have the opportunity to see the odd-looking Baobab Trees with its upside-down appearance.Day 10. Nata to Kasane Highlights. Chobe Fish Eagle Cruise, Botswana.
Chobe National Park is home to large herds of elephant as well as lion, buffalo, hippo and abundant birdlife, including the famous African fish eagle. The Chobe River is a huge watering spot for these amazing animals and this afternoon we head out on the Fish Eagle Boat Cruise to see these.Day 11. Kasane to Livingstone, Zambia Highlights. We're up early again this morning and head out in open 4x4 safari vehicles into the Chobe National Park with a resident guide. Our guide takes us along the dirt tracks to explore and see if we can seek out the predators and other fascinating wildlife here.Day 12. Livingstone Highlights. Livingstone Activities, Zambia.
Explore the world renowned Victoria Falls, visit the David Livingstone Museum or spend the day visiting with the locals and learn more about their history and culture. For the more adventurous this is the time to partake in a myriad of optional adrenaline activities.Amanpuri - 'Place of rest' is in the coastal town of Swakopmund, fffering spacious en-suite single, dorm and twin/double rooms. The rooms are arranged around a sunny courtyard and BBQ area, and just a 10 minute walk to shops and restaurants. The activity desk conveniently offers activities or day tours around Swakopmund that you might want to book.
