Out of the park today we cross the border and into our next country on our safari, Malawi.

Malawi, The Warm Heart of Africa will welcome you with waves and smiles. This beautiful country is dominated by the lake which covers almost a fifth of the country's area and also provides a livleyhood to many of the Malawian people.

Home for the next couple of nights is on the lakeshore at Kande Beach.

Day 7. Chitimba Beach Highlights. Livingstonia Day Hike, Malawi.

Feeling energetic? We have the opportunity to trek up to the Manchewe Falls in the hills surrounding Chitimba. The views are well worth it as is the chance to cool off in a natural bath at the top.

Alternatively, relax on the beach or head into the village for a game of Bao with the locals.

Day 8. Chitimba Beach to Iringa, Tanzania

Passports out again! Crossing the border at Songwe Bridge we climb steadily up through tea plantations into Tanzania's Southern Highlands.

The working farm that is home for the night is at an altitude of 1,600m so it has a pleasant climate and some fantastic produce.

Be sure to check out the chocolate brownies and a warming hot chocolate in the colder months.

Day 9. Iringa- Mikumi National Park area

Departing after breakfast from the Southern Highlands of Iringa we head to Mikumi National Park. Making our way across a landscape of baobabs, black hardwood trees and grassy plains as we reach our accommodation. Boasting a relaxing swimming pool, bar/restaurant and the opportunity for an optional game drive before ending the day under a starry sky.

Day 10. Mikumi to Dar es Salaam Highlights. Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. Mikumi National Park, Tanzania.

Our journey to Tanzania's hub, Dar es Salaam.

After working our way through the hustle and bustle of the city of Dar es Salaam we reach our camp, on the beach, next to the Indian Ocean.

Day 11. Zanzibar Highlights. Stone Town, Zanzibar, Tanzania. Zanzibar, Tanzania.

Leaving the Acacia vehicle and the mainland behind, mode of transport swaps today as we jump on the ferry across to the 'Spice Island' Zanzibar.

Catch that last swim or bag a bargain in the market before catching the ferry back to Dar es Salaam and on to the beach fronted camp site.

Day 16. Dar es Salaam - Marangu Highlights. Marangu, Moshi Area, Tanzania.

We're up early this morning, putting the city behind us it's on inland and northwards. Our journey takes us past the Usambara and Pare Mountains through sisal plantations.

Day 17. Marangu - Arusha Highlights. Maasai Culture Village Walk, Arusha, Tanzania. Meserani Snake Park, Tanzania.

It's only a short drive today through the town of Moshi and onwards to Arusha.

We're up early this morning for a game drive in search of the 'Big 5' (Lion, Leopard, Elephant, Rhino and Buffalo) and you are sure to be rewarded with some amazing animal sightings.

Day 20. Ngorongoro Crater to Arusha Highlights. Ngorongoro Crater, Tanzania.

Wrapped up against the cool of the morning we descend to the floor of the crater and game drive in this animal paradise. The only major mammal you won't see is the giraffe as the steep crater walls keep them out.

Reluctantly this afternoon its time to retrace our steps back to our camp outside Arusha for the final night of the tour.

Day 21. Arusha to Nairobi, Kenya

Passports for the final time on the tour! Our route this morning takes us through Arusha and onwards to the border town of Namanga where we complete the last crossing of the tour and onwards to Kenya's capital Nairobi where we bid farewell to our fellow travellers and crew.
