This adventure accommodated tour will take you from East to Southern Africa experiencing some of the best attractions along the way. From the tropical island of Zanzibar to the thundering Victoria Falls via Lake Malawi and finishing with two of Southern Africa's great game parks - Matobo NP and Kruger.

Day 1. Dar es Salaam to Stone Town Highlights. Stone Town, Zanzibar, Tanzania. Zanzibar, Tanzania. Accommodation. Mazsons Hotel, Stone Town.

We make an early start today and catch the ferry over to Zanzibar. We spend our first night in the capital Stone Town. Explore the town on foot visiting the bazaars, mosques, palaces, courtyards and alleyways.

This evening it's time to chill out with a tasty cocktail at one of the rooftop bars whilst enjoying the sunset over the Indian Ocean.

Day 2-3. Stone Town to Kendwa Beach, Zanizibar Highlights. Zanzibar, Northern Beaches, Tanzania. Accommodation. Sunset Bungalows Kendwa.

Heading north we leave Stone Town and make our way to northern beaches on the island. Your time is free here so relax on the beach or take on some of the optional activities like scuba diving and snorkelling.

Whether you'd like to spend your time lazing in a hammock with the lulling sound of the ocean or prefer to get active with activities - there's something for everyone at Kendwa Beach.

Day 4. Zanzibar to Dar es Salaam Highlights. Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. Accommodation. Kipepeo Beach Village, Dar es Salaam.

Bidding our farewell to the beach we make our way back to Stone Town and head back to the mainland and Dar es Salaam where we stay for the evening.

Enjoy the last night with the soft sounds of the Indian Ocean as tomorrow we head west!

Day 5. Dar es Salaam to Mikumi Highlights. Mikumi National Park, Tanzania. Accommodation. Tanswiss, Mikumi.

Leaving the coast we make our way inland through Mikumi National Park where we may be lucky enough to see elephant and giraffe along the way. Our accommodation is a stone's throw from the park outside the small village of Mikumi.

Day 6. Mikumi to Iringa Accommodation. Iringa Farmhouse.

Today we journey to the town of Iringa and the Kislonza Farmhouse in the Southern Highlands of Tanzania. This working farm has been family run for over 70 years and provides organic meat to the surrounding markets as well as Dar es Salaam.

Nestled on the Tanzanian Highlands, the evening is crisp and cool - perfect to enjoy a night in the quaint boma with the coal stove and an Amarula hot chocolate.

Day 7. Iringa to Chitimba Beach, Malawi Accommodation. Chitimba Camp, Lake Malawi.

Today we leave Tanzania and cross the Songwe border into Malawi. Lake Malwai covers almost a fifth of the countries area and has the highest of endemic fish species of any lake in the world.

Our first night is spent at the northern lake at a lovely beach camp outside a local village.

Day 8. Chitimba Beach Highlights. Lake Malawi, Malawi. Livingstonia Day Hike, Malawi. Accommodation. Chitimba Camp, Lake Malawi.

Today you can relax on the beach, take a walk round the local village or take an 11km hike to the Manchewe Falls, enjoying the view from the hills.

The nearby mission was established by David Livingstone and makes an interesting visit in the midst of the rolling Malawian hills.

Day 9. Chitimba Beach to Kande Beach Accommodation. Kande Beach, Malawi.

We continue south today we drive to Kande Beach via the northern region's capital Mzuzu. After stocking up on supplies, we continue on back to the lake where we spend the next 2 nights.

Day 10. Kande Beach Highlights. Kande Beach Activities, Malawi. Accommodation. Kande Beach, Malawi.

At Kande try out some of the water sports that are on offer to explore the freshwater tropical fish or explore the surrounding countryside on horseback.

Day 11. Kande Beach to Chipata Accommodation. Mamarula Camp.

We leave Lake Malawi today making our way across the border into Zambia and the town of Chipata. The Capital of Zambia's Eastern Province, Chipata has an approximate population of 98,000.

Day 12. Chipata to Lusaka Highlights. Lusaka, Zambia. Accommodation. Eureka Camp, Lusaka.

We leave early and travel the Great Eastern Road crossing the Luangwa River to Lusaka. Lusaka is Southern Africa's fastest growing city with approximately 1.7m currently living in the city.

Day 13. Lusaka to Livingstone Highlights. Victoria Falls - Mosi oa Tunya National Park, Zambia. Accommodation. The Zambezi Waterfront, Livingstone.

Leaving Lusaka we make our way south to Livingstone where we visit and experience the spray from Victoria Falls. Our accommodation is on the banks of the Zambezi River only a few kilometres from the falls.

Day 14-16. Livingstone Highlights. Livingstone Activities, Zambia. Accommodation. The Zambezi Waterfront, Livingstone.

The next few days are free for you to take part in full or half day optional activities. Some of the activities available are bungee jumping, white water rafting, village walk, sunset cruise, gorge swing, helicopter/microlight ride, fishing and even visit neighbouring Zimbabwe.

Day 17. Livingstone to Bulawayo, Zimbabwe Accommodation. Burkes Paradise.

We leave Livingstone today and cross the border into Zimbabwe passing through the town of Victoria Falls to Bulawayo, the second-largest city in Zimbabwe. Our campsite is located at a short distance from the city centre and on-route to the Matobo National Park.

Day 18. Matobo National Park Highlights. Matobo National Park, Zimbabwe. Accommodation. Burkes Paradise.

We make the short journey to Matobo NationalThe wind-sculptured Matobo Hills are the site of numerous Bushman paintings and the area holds a special cultural and spiritual importance to the indigenous people here. The reserve has the largest concentration of Black and White Rhino in Africa and, provided conditions are right, our guides will lead us on foot to some of the more concealed places in search of these magnificent animals.

Opt for an optional full day tour to visit the grave of Cecil John Rhodes at World's view and ancient San/Bushman paintings.

Day 19. Bulawayo to Tshipise, South Africa Highlights. Tshipise, South Africa. Accommodation. Forever Resorts, Tshipise.

Today we leave Bulawayo and make our way south to the border of South Africa at the busy Beitridge. We cross South Africa's second largest river the Limpopo and arrive at hour accommodation with natural hot springs and heated pools to enjoy tonight.

Day 20. Tshipise to Hazyview Highlights. Shangaan Cultural Evening. Accommodation. Hotel Numbi.

Leaving Tshipise we make our way to further South to the Hazyview area and South Africa's premier game reserve, Kruger National Park. The park is home to the 'big 5' as well as 148 mammal and over 505 bird species.

Tonight we embrace the local Shangaan Culture and enjoy some traditional dancing and learn about the local tribe.

Day 21. Kruger National Park Highlights. Kruger National Park, South Africa. Accommodation. Hotel Numbi.

We start the day early boarding our open 4x4 safari vehicles for a full days game drive searching for the many animals to be found in the park.

With an abundance of wildlife, Kruger is home to a number of different habitats and biomes making it a crucial conservation area for many African wildlife, birdlife and flora species. Spend the day out exploring the many winding roads in search of the Big Five, the little Five and the many of spectacular sights of the park.

Day 22. Hazyview to Pretoria

We leave Hazyview today and make our way to Pretoria where our tour ends.

Kipepeo Beach Village, Dar es Salaam

An informal and secure thatched resort set on a golden stretch of beach on the south coast of Dar es Salaam and reached by ferry from the city centre. The relaxed restaurant is well-known for its seafood, and has tables set in the sand and hammocks strung up in the palm trees. Rooms – single, twin, double or family share bandas, some en suite, camping. Facilities – restaurant and bar. The Indian Ocean here is ideal for swimming.
