Day 1. Cape Town - Oudtshoorn Highlights. Oudtshoorn, Ostrich Farm, South Africa.

We travel via the scenic Winelands (pausing at a winery along the way) through the historic Du Toit’s Kloof Pass and the mountainous Route 62. Our first night is in Oudtshoorn, best-known as the ‘feather capital’ of the world, after the 18th-century Ostrich industry boom. We visit historical landmarks from the era, as well as a working ostrich farm to view and learn about these magnificent birds.

Day 2. Oudtshoorn - Knysna Highlights. Cango Caves, South Africa. Knysna, South Africa.

Today we will embark on a guided tour of the Cango Caves – a dripstone cave system with vast halls of towering Stalactite & Stalagmite formations, located in the foothills of the Swartberg mountain range. Travelling onward we via the picturesque Outeniqua Pass, the town of George, the lush green forests of the Wilderness National Park, the Knysna Lagoon to Knysna, well-known for its unique arts & craft – all locally made.

Day 3. Knysna - Port Elizabeth Highlights. Birds Of Eden. Tsitsikamma National Park, South Africa.

Heading out after breakfast, we travel via Plettenberg Bay to The Birds of Eden, the world’s largest free-flight aviary. This sanctuary has won a multitude of awards for sustainability and responsible tourism efforts - home to rescued exotic - as well as native African bird species. After our visit, we head toward the highest road bridge in Africa (Bloukrans @ 216m), well-known for its bungee jumping. We journey to the Tsitsikamma National Park (Khoisan for ‘the place of much water’) where we walk a suspended bridge at the mouth of the Storms River, taking in the sheer beauty of the area. Our final stop is Port Elizabeth, known as the ‘Friendly City’ – where our tour ends.
