The rain forests of south western Uganda are home to about half of the worlds last remaining mountain gorillas, and this safari takes you for a very special wildlife encounter with these magnificent apes in their natural habitat. We also enjoy game drives and boat rides to see other fascinating wildlife, and explore the beautiful terraced hillsides of Uganda, dotted with picturesque lakes and rural landscapes.

Lake Mburo National Park allows walking safaris which is rare in East Africa and this morning we enjoy this excursion before returning to the vehicles and heading towards the Queen Elizabeth National Park and our accommodation overlooking Lake Edward.Day 3. After a morning game driving in the Queen Elizabeth National Park with the peaks of the Rwenzori Mountains in the distance we head on south to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park in preparation for our trek to visit the mountain gorillas tomorrow.Day 4. We have an exciting and strenuous day today and after our briefing we are off through the steep dense jungle slopes in search of the endangered mountain gorilla.Day 5. Bwindi Impenetrable National Park to Kampala Highlights. Equator.
Our short but exciting adventure comes to an end today as we return in our vehicles to the capital city, Kampala where early this evening arrangements end.Large centrally located three-star hotel adjacent to Kampala’s golf course and a short taxi ride to the city centre, with good views of Kampala’s skyline from the higher floors. A very large pool area with terrace restaurant, gym and spacious leafy gardens.

GORILLA PERMITS:
The Uganda Wildlife Authority imposes strict regulations regarding the gorilla trekking permits. One of these is that permits must be booked and paid in advance. In order for us to do this we must collect your permit money, in addition to your normal deposit, at the time of booking. Like your deposit, the permit money is not refundable if you cancel your tour. The Gorilla Permits currently (January 2020) cost US$795.00 per person. Please ask your agent or Acacia for the equivalent amount in your own currency.
