Day 1. Pretoria to Hazyview Highlights. Shangaan Cultural Evening. Accommodation. Hotel Numbi.

Leaving the city behind, we travel to South Africa's picturesque Mpumalanga province on our way to Hazyview on the outskirts of the central Kruger National Park.

Tonight, we get our gear ready for a day out in the wild tomorrow and get to know our fellow travellers.

Day 2. Kruger National Park Highlights. Kruger National Park, South Africa. Accommodation. Hotel Numbi.

Today we explore the wild! After breakfast we meet our local guides and board the 4x4's to Kruger. Our morning is spent seeking out the Big 5 and other animals, birds and reptiles as we zig-zag across the rivers and paths within the park.

Kruger is home to over 505 species of birds, 148 species of mammals and many reptiles which we enthusiastically search for during the morning and afternoon. The impressive atmosphere of the park enables you to understand why it is held in such high esteem among explorers from all over the world who visit this park. We take a well-deserved lunch break en-route before game driving out of the park to our accommodation for the night.

Day 3. Hazyview to Tshipise Highlights. Tshipise, South Africa. Accommodation. Forever Resorts, Tshipise.

Heading across the northern Drakensberg escarpment we make our way across the rolling terrain to Tshipise hot spring resort in the north of South Africa. Here you'll have the opportunity to swim in the natural hot pools of the resort and enjoy the bushveld scenery.

Day 4. Tshipise to Bulawayo, Zimbabwe Accommodation. Burkes Paradise.

This morning we cross from South Africa to Zimbabwe at the busy Beitbridge border - Africa's busiest land border. After border formalities, we make our way to Bulawayo where we stock up on supplies, and then head to our camp on the outskirts of town.

The Matobos area is very scenic with interesting rock formations and lovely views. We spend our first night in Zimbabwe under the African sky.

Day 5. Matobo National Park Highlights. Matobo National Park, Zimbabwe. Accommodation. Burkes Paradise.

The wind-sculptured Matobo Hills are the site of numerous Bushman paintings and the area holds a special cultural and spiritual importance to the indigenous people here. The reserve has the largest concentration of Black and White Rhino in Africa and, provided conditions are right, our guides will lead us on foot to some of the more concealed places in search of these magnificent animals. The park also has the densest population of leopard and black eagle in the world and we keep our eyes peeled high and low for these creatures.

The hills are also home to the grave site of Cecil John Rhodes who chose this as his burial place owing to the intense natural beauty and startling views from the hills. His grave can be visited at World’s View - a place of continual debate owing to his involvement in claiming the land and its people for Queen & Country in colonial times.

Day 6. Bulawayo to Livingstone, Zambia Highlights. Livingstone Activities, Zambia. Victoria Falls - Mosi oa Tunya National Park, Zambia. Accommodation. The Zambezi Waterfront, Livingstone.

Moving on from Bulawayo we continue north, and pass through the town of Victoria Falls, before crossing the border into Zambia. We travel the short distance to the Zambezi Waterfront a few kilometres up water from the falls nestled on the banks of the Zambezi.

Victoria Falls Waterfront has a restaurant and small deck/terrace overlooking the river. The office here is a base and booking point for the numerous optional activities available in the area. Staff will give a full briefing on what can be booked (typically including rafting, canoeing, bungee, abseiling, gorge swinging, horse riding, scenic flights and river cruises).

Choose your activity at leisure, if time allows or else simply relax and enjoy the mighty Zambezi as it flows past your vantage point.

This afternoon we visit the Mosi oa Tunya National Park to see the mighty Victoria Falls.

Day 7. Livingstone

After breakfast is when your tour ends with us, however most people spend the day (and following days) taking the numerous opportunities available to explore and enjoy what this magnificent destination has on offer.
