Day 1. Nairobi to Lake Nakuru National Park Highlights. Lake Nakuru, Kenya.

Travelling west from Nairobi we drop down into the Great Rift Valley at the famous Mau escarpment while taking in the magnificent views.

After lunch, we enjoy an afternoon game drive in the Lake Nakuru National Park. Famous for its prolific bird species especially the flamingo that dots the fringing soda lake forming a strikingly pink ‘fringe’ around the lake-shore. However, Lake Nakuru is not simply a bird sanctuary, it is also home to buffalo, lion, rhino (black and white), leopard, warthog, baboon, antelope, and a variety of smaller antelopes.

Day 2. Lake Nakuru to Maasai Mara National Reserve

Departing this morning we traverse the plains and head towards the world-renowned Maasai Mara National Reserve, home to a magnificent array of animals including the impressive Big 5 - leopard, lion, buffalo, rhino and elephant.

After having lunch, we have an afternoon game drive in this amazing nature reserve in search of the abundance of wildlife. We arrive late afternoon at our comfortable lodge and enjoy a relaxing dinner.

Day 3. Maasai Mara National Reserve Highlights. Masai Mara National Reserve, Kenya.

Today we enjoy a full day exploring the park. We will generally head out in the morning and afternoon as these are the times that the animals are more active. During the heat of the day, we relax at our comfortable lodge.

The Maasai Mara offers spectacular wildlife sightings all years around, but certain times of the year mainly between July and October the ‘Mara’ is crossed by great herds of wildebeest, zebra and other grazing animals in their migration from the adjoining Serengeti plains. Predators (such as lion, cheetah, leopard) and scavengers (hyena, vultures) follow the grazing animals and this enormous congregation of wildlife forms a spectacular display of Africa’s natural resource

Day 4. Maasai Mara National Reserve to Nairobi Highlights. Great Rift Valley.

After a final breakfast at our lodge, we leave the Maasai Mara behind and head back up the steep escarpment of the Great Rift Valley towards Nairobi where our tour ends.
