4 amazing African countries visited!

South Africa, Namibia, Botswana and Zambia

Our amazing tour in a nutshell!

Leaving the mother city of Cape Town we venture North West through the citrus region of Citrusdal via the Cederberg mountain range and the rugged landscape of Namaqualand (famously known for its prolific display of flowers between Augusts – September) to the Gariep (Orange) River.

Crossing the border into Namibia we visit the second largest canyon ‘Fish River Canyon’ for a spectacular sunset before heading to Sossusvlei dunes. Watching the shift of colours as the sun move across these dunes gives you an idyllic sense of calmness.

Leaving the stunning dunes we make our way to the coastal town of Swakopmund a small town sandwiched between the dunes and the ocean where you have an opportunity to enjoy all the optional ‘sand lovers’ activities such as Skydiving,  quad biking, and sand boarding or simply enjoy the vibrant cafés and bars centrally located.

Waving ‘goodbye’ to the coast, we venture to the mystical Spitzkoppe, a granite infused bushman painting haven to the Cheetah Park for the opportunity to interact with this elusive animal before arriving at  Etosha National Park. This truly spectacular National Park is famous for its floodlit watering holes where you have the opportunity to view all the animal venturing in to drink at night. A truly magical experience!

Heading South we spend the night in Windhoek, Namibia’s capital before crossing the border to Botswana skirting the Northern Kalahari desert to Ghanzi where you will embark on a culture walk with the bushman, a unique tribe that have inhabited the lands for over 20,000 years.

Further we drive into the heart of Botswana we stop at Maun, the gateway to the Okavango Delta. This is a natural wetland, an elaborate world of swaying grasses, giant lily pads, and labyrinths of channels which forms a vast National reserve. We venture out into the Okavango Delta to explore the oxbow lakes and flood plains on foot and by Mokoro (dugout canoe) bush camping on a neat little island in the midst of this pristine magical place.

Leaving the Okavango Delta we venture back to Maun and to Nata and onto the Chobe National Park. This amazing park is home to some of the largest elephant populations anywhere in Africa as well as Lion, the elusive leopard and an abundance of birdlife. We take an afternoon cruise on the river to view the magic of the vast wildness unfold.

From Chobe, we cross into Zambia and drive to our relaxing riverside camp in Livingstone where you, if time allows embark on a series of fun adrenalin pumping activities. Don’t forget to visit the mighty Victoria Falls themselves for a true highlight before your tour ends.
