1) Take the train to Muizenberg and walk the coast to Kalk Bay. This scenic walk is filled with small yet vibrant towns, brightly coloured shacks and tidal pools. Avid surfers take full advantage of the warm, calm waters running along this coastal stretch and people wander through the marketplaces in search for a bargain. Nothing can beat the best fish and Chips in town at the KALK BAY Harbour – Freshly caught and made the traditional way, they are served wrapped in the brown paper. We can promise you won’t be disappointed!

2) Nothing beats a hike up Lions Head – This magnificent peak forms part of a dramatic backdrop to the city of Cape Town and is part of the Table Mountain National Park. Every day hiker’s gather together in groups and venture the peak. The scenery from the top of this point is jaw droppingly beautiful and will leave you in awe of your surroundings. The hike takes approximately two hours depending on your fitness level.
There is no cost to hike up Lions Head, but maybe bring some snacks and a nice bottle of wine so you can picnic at your journey’s end and enjoy the view.
3) The V&A Waterfront always hosts a selection of performances outside the main central amphitheatre and features local acts on weekend afternoons. Sit down on the steps with an ice cream and enjoy the entertainment at your leisure. Dances, acrobats, singers and musicians will enlighten you with their extraordinary skills. If you wish to finish off the V&A Waterfront experience take the scenic Canal cruise around the harbour.

4) Kirstenbosch Gardens is truly beautiful. Feast on a picnic and walk amongst the mesmerising garden with its indigenous trees, ferns and plants whilst soaking up the magnificent mountain. Every Sunday in the summer months you can enjoy the open air concerts with hundreds of locals and families.

5) Visit the Old Biscuit Mill in Woodstock. This famous Saturday market offers an array of locally produced foods, craft beers and entertainment. This is a fun experience where likeminded people come through and trade their locally organic foods. Try local treats, pizzas, freshly made organically filled rolls and sandwiches and delicious organic homemade juices. The shopping here is great with local artists showcasing their talented handyman skills.
