What I thought was a great idea, turned out to be a fun eventful night that bonded our group together. After many years passing, we are still friends!

It was on the cards from day 1 to give our honeymoon couple a taste of an African wedding. – Malawian style!  We placed all the names in a hat and chose a name to buy for. I was certainly the lucky one who opted to buy for the honeymoon couple – Yes, this was a pink and leopard dress up punch, fun overland style night with minimal restrictions – the guys were wearing some interesting dresses!

Whilst our tour leader set up the wedding décor on the beach, we got on with the pig on the spit that was chosen from the village. After an awesome traditional dinner, we sipped the punch and changed into our rather interesting outfits and the party began. The wedding song was sung by the group, the drums played by the local kids, the priest read the vows out of the FHM magazine – you can only wonder what was said!  This was only the start of the night – the rest stays with the group on the road in Africa!  Truly the best night I have ever had!
