The Quiver tree in Richtesveld National Park in Namibia and South Africa has been used by the indigenous Nama people for hundreds of years to create a carrier for their arrows and you can often see it standing alone at the top of one of the many mountains throughout the park. Only occasionally do you find yourself up close to one that is flowering, an opportunity not to be missed; so I relished this chance to capture this seemingly normal tree in all it’s beauty!
