Our amazing Southern Africa tour in a nutshell!
From Johannesburg we venture to Southern Africa’s best known and premier game reserve ‘Kruger National Park’. We spend 2 amazing nights and 1 full day exploring the park by game driving across the savannah in search for the ‘Big 5’ – lion, leopard, elephant, rhino and buffalo and the wealth of wildlife that inhabits the area.
Leaving the Kruger National Park behind, we cross into Botswana via Francistown, Nata and the edge of the Makgadikgadi Pan to Kasane, the top north of the country and the gate way to the Chobe National Park. Here you will embark on an amazing sunset cruise on the Chobe River in search for the abundance of wildlife such as elephant, Lion, leopard, buffalo, hippo and numerous antelopes and bird species.
Crossing the Chobe River where the 4 countries meet (Zambia, Botswana, Namibia and Zimbabwe) we make our way to the adventure capital ‘Livingstone’ Here you will have the opportunity to enjoy the activities on offer from Grade 5 white water rafting, flights over the falls, bungy jumping, walk with the lions, Elephant safaris and game walks.
From Livingstone we cross back to Kasane and the Chobe National Park. This amazing park is home to some of the largest elephant populations anywhere in Africa as well as Lion, the elusive leopard and an abundance of birdlife. We take an afternoon cruise on the river to view the magic of the vast wildness unfold.
We head south to Nata stopping at the stunning Elephant Sands, a concession area filled with roaming wildlife from the surrounding National Parks before heading to Maun and the Okavango Delta. This is a natural wetland, an elaborate world of swaying grasses, giant lily pads, and labyrinths of channels which forms a vast National reserve. We venture out into the Okavango Delta to explore the oxbow lakes and flood plains on foot and by Mokoro (dugout canoe) bush camping on a neat little island in the midst of this pristine magical place.
Leaving the Okavango Delta we venture back to Maun skirting the Northern Kalahari desert to Ghanzi where you will take a culture walk with the bushman, a unique tribe that have inhabited the lands for over 20,000 years.
From here we cross over the border to Windhoek then onto Etosha National Park. This truly spectacular National Park is famous for its floodlit watering holes where you have the opportunity to view all the animal venturing in to drink at night. A truly magical experience!
After two days of game driving in Etosha National Park we make our way to the Cheetah Park for the opportunity to interact with this elusive animal before we venture to the mystical Spitzkoppe, a granite infused bushman painting haven.
Leaving Spitzkoppe we head to the coast and to Swakopmund, a small coastal town sandwiched between the dunes and the ocean where you have an opportunity to enjoy all the optional ‘sand lovers’ activities such as skydiving, quad biking, and sand boarding or simply enjoy the vibrant cafés and bars centrally located.
Waving ‘goodbye’ to the coast, we continue south to the Namib Naukluft Park, the world’s oldest desert. Clamber to the top of a dune for a dramatic view over the vast red sands at dawn and enjoy a walk through the dunes.
Further south we visit another natural wonder and the second largest canyon in the world – Fish River Canyon before crossing the border into South Africa to the Gariep (Orange) River for a relaxing afternoon and an optional canoe safari before the final stretch to cosmopolitan Cape Town where our tour ends.
