David Youldon, is a British conservationist, his dream to save Africa’s iconic predator, the lion. David helped to set up the “Rehabilitation and Release into the Wild” programme, its aim to develop the natural hunting instinct of captive lions and ensure their continuing survival in the wilderness. A cause which captured the imagination of 4.8 million UK viewers, ITV’s “Lion Country,” was an amazing six part documentary series. Famous for its Born Free connection and featured in the BBC documentary “The Secret Life Of Elephants,” Samburu lays claim to its own Big Five. The Grevy’s zebra, long-necked gerenuk, reticulated giraffe, besia oryx and Somali ostrich are endemic to the national park; the elusive leopard, large numbers of elephant and endangered wild dog also commonly sighted.
