Mozambique is back on our bucket list so get ready to spice up your adventure on the sands.
The Bazaruto Archipelago National Marine Park is one of the major highlights on our camping overland expedition – the group of five islands recognised by the WWF as a gift to the earth.
We visit the coastal town of Vilankulos which is only a short dhow ride from Magaruque Island, the white sand paradise offering reef snorkelling right on its doorstep. A ready made island for the adventurous, you can also hike to a 19th century fort, snorkel with turtles and drift dive.
Further south you’ll find even more alluring beach backdrops. Xai Xai’s coral reef is a magnet for a variety of marine life and Tofo has one of the highest Whale Shark populations in the world.
