Zambia’s South Luangwa National Park is one of the best places to spot the endangered wild dog – and best of all the population has made an amazing comeback in the national park. Make your way here in green season (November to April) as there will be plenty of packs on the prowl their group numbers often topping 30.

These playful characters will charm the pants off you, as their pack mentality means they do everything together including feasting on the latest find or simply rolling around and having fun. Wild dogs are also pretty curious characters so you could be up for a close encounter on your walking safari!

Meet the wild ones on our Camping or Accommodated Overland tours
