Mountain gorillas

The fur of the mountain gorilla is thicker and longer than that of other gorilla species, enabling them to live in colder climates. On average, the mountain gorilla is the biggest of all gorilla species. Adult males are called "Silverbacks" because of the silver/grey hair that grows on their backs with age. The mountain gorilla is an endangered species.
