Zambia's smallest national park and a UNESCO World Heritage site, Mosi oa Tunya, means the smoke that thunders and covers 66 square kilometres from the Songwe Gorge below the Victoria Falls. At over a mile wide and some 100 metres deep the Falls itself at high water form the largest curtain of falling water in the world with spray visible from 20 kilometres away. The Park provides a home for numerous antelope species, zebra, giraffe, warthog, and a variety of birds and smaller animals. Elephants cross the Zambezi and freely walk through the Park and the surrounding area.
