Namibia, Delta, Vic Falls, Kruger: 25 Day Safari Adventure (Camping)

Day 1. Cape Town to Cederberg Area Highlights. Cederberg, South Africa.

We start this tour with a unique cultural experience, visiting the Cape Flats, at one of Cape Towns townships where you will meet local people and visit community projects in the area. After a traditional lunch we slowly make our way north through the Western cape, making camp in near the stunning Cederberg mountains.

Day 2. Cederberg to Orange (Gariep) River, Namibia Highlights. Orange (Gariep) River, Namibia.

Leaving behind the Western Cape we continue north toward the border of South Africa and Namibia, crossing at Vioolsdrift. Tonight we camp on the Namibian side of the Orange River and if time allows you can do an optional canoe safari on the river late afternoon or the following morning.

Day 3. Orange (Gariep) River to Fish River Canyon Highlights. Fish River Canyon, Namibia.

After a relaxing morning alongside the river, we make our way to the stunning Fish River Canyon. One of the natural wonders of Africa, and the second largest canyon in the world, there are ample opportunities to take in this beautiful sight before we make our way to camp for the night.

Day 4. Fish River Canyon to Sesriem Area Highlights. Namib Naukluft Park, Namibia.

Today we are making our way to the gateway of the Namib Naukluft National park, home to the worlds oldest desert and highest sand dunes.

Day 5. Sesriem to Sossus On Foot Camp, Khomas Region Highlights. Dune 45, Namib Naukluft National Park, Namibia. Sesriem Canyon, Namibia. Sossusvlei, Namibia.

We wake up early this morning and enter the National Park to trek to the top of Dune 45. Some of these dunes are over 300m high but well worth the trek! We later head into the park for a short shuttle ride and walk to the 'Dead Vlei' a spectacular glimpse at the natural environment Namibia has to offer. We leave the dunes and have one more stop at the smaller Sesriem canyon before heading to our camp for the night.

Day 6. Sossus On Foot Camp, Khomas Region to Swakopmund Highlights. Swakopmund, Namibia. The Tropic of Capricorn.

Leaving the desert behind we are making our way to the Atlantic coast for the next two nights. Swakopmund is described as the adventure capitol of Namibia with some incredible activities on offer - quad biking, sand boarding, sky diving etc. If you would prefer to relax this quaint town has some great shopping, museums or simply walk along the promenade and enjoy the towns cafe culture.

Day 7. Swakopmund Highlights. Swakopmund, Namibia.

A free day to explore Swakopmund. Enjoy a day out in the giant sand dunes or simply relax in the town seeking out the delicious coffee shops and deli's.

Day 8. Swakopmund to Spitzkoppe Highlights. Spitzkoppe, Namibia.

After two days exploring Swakopmund we depart early for our next inland adventure to the stunning Damaraland region. Ancient bushman paintings are still visible on the rock formations in the area and giant boulder like rock formations peak at approx 1800m to make up what some describe as the most scenic campsite in Namibia.

Day 9. Spitzkoppe to Etosha National Park

Leaving our campsite behind we head north again toward Etosha National Park where we camp inside the park for two nights.

Day 10. Etosha National Park Highlights. Etosha National Park, Namibia.

Today we enjoy a full game drive, taking in the main attraction which is a vast 20,000 sq km salt pan. Be sure to watch for elephant, rhino, zebra, giraffes and many grazing animals frequenting the watering holes. One of the best parts of this campsite is the specially managed floodlit waterholes where you can sit and relax watching the a range of night visitors, making this one of the most memorable campsites along the journey.

Day 11. Etosha to Windhoek Highlights. Windhoek, Namibia.

After two exciting days in Etosha, today we make our way to the capitol of Namibia - Windhoek. With free time to explore this German style city be sure to take the opportunity to enjoy a night out at one of the local restaurants.

Day 12. Windhoek to Omaheke Region, Namibia Highlights. Kalahari Bushman Walk, Omaheke Region, Namibia.

Today we are making our way to the Kalahari region. Our camp is located a stone throw from the Namibian/Botswana border. After settling in we will meet the San/bushman and enjoy a guided walk to gain some insight into these ancient people's way of life.

Day 13. Omaheke Region, Namibia to Maun, Botswana

Completing formalities at the border post, we head to Maun, the gateway of the Okavango Delta. Maun is still officially a village, it has a mix of modern buildings and native dwellings. We set up camp here for the night and prepare for our trip into the Delta tomorrow morning.

Day 14. Maun to Okavango Delta Highlights. Okavango Delta, Botswana.

We rise early and an start our excursion into the Okavango Delta by an open 4x4 vehicle that takes us to the Mokoro station. We are introduced to our local Tswana Polers who will be guiding us on this excursion. Today is spend gliding through the grasses and channels in search of the resident wildlife on our way to the tented bush camp. On arrival we explore the area by foot on a walking safari and then relax in this incredible natural wetland for the night.

Day 15. Okavango Delta to Maun Highlights. Maun, Botswana.

This morning we get back into our Mokoro's for an easy paced journey out of the Okavango Delta. We are back at camp in Maun with enough time for an optional scenic flight over the Delta, or relax by the camps pool for the afternoon.

Day 16. Maun to Elephant Sands, Nata Highlights. Elephant Sands, Nata, Botswana.

Today we make our way to Elephant Sands Lodge in Nata, a famous spot because the campsite has no fences so all wildlife can roam freely from one waterhole to another. You can expect to see a variety of antelope and other wildlife during your stay at Elephant sands.

Day 17. Nata to Kasane Highlights. Chobe Fish Eagle Cruise, Botswana.

Today we make our way to Kasane, which is the gateway to Chobe National Park. If you didn't see enough elephants yesterday, Chobe is famous for its large elephant population. This afternoon we take a 'Fish Eagle' river cruise on the Chobe River - a great opportunity to see the abundant wildlife in this park from lion, buffalo, hippo and birdlife.

Day 18. Kasane to Livingstone, Zambia Highlights. Chobe National Park Game Drive, Botswana. Chobe National Park, Botswana. Victoria Falls National Park.

We rise early to head out on an open 4x4 game drive in Chobe National Park before moving on from Kasane. After breakfast we pack up camp and make our way to to the ferry crossing over the confluence of the Chobe and Zambezi River into Zambia. After border formalities we make camp at on the banks of the Zambezi River, our home for the next two nights.

Day 19. Livingstone Highlights. Livingstone Activities, Zambia. Victoria Falls - Mosi oa Tunya National Park, Zambia.

Today is a free day in Livingstone. If we didn't visit Victoria Falls yesterday, we will go today. Otherwise, you are free to take part in one of the many optional activities on offer or relax at the beautiful Waterfront and watch the Zambezi River flow by.

Day 20. Livingstone to Bulawayo

Get your passports ready, today we leave Zambia and cross the border into Zimbabwe. We will pass through Victoria Falls town and travel via the bushveld countryside on the way to Bulawayo - Zimbabwe's second city.

Day 21. Matobo National Park Highlights. Matobo National Park, Zimbabwe.

This morning we head to the wonderful Matobo National park. A short drive from our campsite in Bulawayo, we board our 4x4 vehicles and join our knowledgeable local guide for our half-day wilderness walk in search of the Black and White Rhino. If conditions are right, our guides will lead us on foot to some of the more concealed places so we can spot these incredible creatures.

There's an option to partake in a full-day excursion. Highlights include: visiting Bushman Painting sites and World's View where British imperialist Cecil John Rhodes is buried.

Day 22. Bulawayo to Tshipise, South Africa Highlights. Tshipise, South Africa.

Departing early, we are continuing south to the South Africa border. After formalities there we make our way across the Limpopo River which acts as a boundary between South Africa and its neighbours Botswana and Zimbabwe. Our campsite for the night is near the local hot springs and beautiful dense forests, a great spot to relax after a long day driving.

Day 23. Tshipise to Hazyview Highlights. Shangaan Cultural Evening.

Today we are making our way toward southern Africa's most famous reserve, Kruger National Park. We spend the next two nights within the Kruger area, taking part in a cultural tribal dance tonight before we prepare for a full day game driving in the park tomorrow.

This evening we get a taste of the local culture with some Shangaan tribal dancing.

Day 24. Kruger National Park Highlights. Kruger National Park, South Africa.

This morning we have an early wake up to board our 4x4 safari vehicles and get ready for a full day game driving in Kruger National Park.

The Kruger National Park is a wildlife haven with a number of different ecological areas making homes for a large variety of animals, plants, birds and reptiles. We head out with local experts and seek out not only the famed Big Five, but also many other animals and experiences in this fantastic National park.

We return to camp in the late afternoon for our final night around the campfire.

Day 25. Hazyview to Pretoria

Driving further south we travel via South Africa's maize-triangle - maize is the staple of most African cultures and grows in abundance throughout this area. Our tour ends on arrival to Pretoria mid to late afternoon.
