Day 1. Livingstone, Zambia to Lusaka Highlights. Lusaka, Zambia.
Leaving the majestic Victoria Falls behind we hit the road and start our safari today. Travelling through small villages and lush countryside, our journey takes us to the southern plateau and Zambia's capital, Lusaka.Day 2. Lusaka to Petauke
Leaving early via the Great East Road, linking Zambia with Malawi, we cross over the Luangwa River before reaching our accommodation situated 5km from Petauke.Day 3. Petauke to South Luangwa National Park Highlights. South Luangwa National Park.
South Luangwa National Park covers over 9,000 sq. km is one of the world’s greatest wildlife sanctuaries with high concentrations of wildlife. The Luangwa River flows through the park and the riverbanks are popular for sightings of elephant, hippo and other wildlife. Our camp overlooks a bend in the river giving us excellent views over the sandy riverbed to view passing animals.Day 4. South Luangwa National Park to Chipata Highlights. South Luangwa National Park.
We board the open game drive vehicles with a local ranger in search of some of the animals and birdlife that the park is so famous for. With one of the highest concentrations of leopard for any National Park, we hope that South Luangwa will show us these and many of its other inhabitants.Day 5. It's a leisurely drive today up towards the Northern lakeshore through rubber plantations and via the market town of Mzuzu to stock up on supplies before heading back down to the beach at the foot of the Livingstonia Plateau.Day 8. Chitimba Beach to Iringa, Tanzania
Passports out again! Crossing the border at Songwe Bridge we climb steadily up through tea plantations into Tanzania's Southern Highlands.Day 9. Iringa to Mikumi National Park Area Highlights. Mikumi National Park, Tanzania.
Departing after breakfast from the Southern Highlands of Iringa we head to Mikumi National Park. Making our way across a landscape of baobabs, black hardwood trees and grassy plains as we reach our accommodation. Boasting a relaxing swimming pool, bar/restaurant and the opportunity for an optional game drive before ending the day under a starry sky.Day 10. Nungwi is home to some of the white sandy sun kissed beaches that Zanzibar is famous for and this morning we transfer North from Stone Town to this resort.Day 15. Zanzibar Island, Nungwi to Bagamoyo Highlights. Bagamoyo, Tanzania.
Catch that last swim or bag a bargain in the market before catching the ferry back to Dar es Salaam and on to Bagamoyo for the night.Day 16. Bagamoyo - Marangu Highlights. Marangu, Moshi Area, Tanzania.
We're up early this morning, putting the coast behind us it's on inland and northwards. Our journey takes us past the Usambara and Pare Mountains through sisal plantations.Day 17. Marangu - Arusha Highlights. Maasai Culture Village Walk, Arusha, Tanzania. Meserani Snake Park, Tanzania.
It's only a short drive today through the town of Moshi and onwards to Arusha.Day 18. Arusha to Serengeti National Park Highlights. Serengeti National Park, Tanzania.
We're off the Acacia vehicle again and onto specialised 4x4 safari vehicles with local guides for the next 3 days. Passing west across the Great Rift Valley we stop for lunch on the rim of the Ngorongoro Crater before descending into the seemingly endless plains of the Serengeti.Day 19. Serengeti National Park to Ngrongoro Crater Highlights. Serengeti National Park, Tanzania.
We're up early this morning for a game drive in search of the 'Big 5' (Lion, Leopard, Elephant, Rhino and Buffalo) and you are sure to be rewarded with some amazing animal sightings.Day 20. Ngorongoro Crater to Arusha Highlights. Ngorongoro Crater, Tanzania.
Wrapped up against the cool of the morning we descend to the floor of the crater and game drive in this animal paradise. The only major mammal you won't see is the giraffe as the steep crater walls keep them out.Day 21. Arusha to Nairobi, Kenya
Passports for the final time on the tour! Our route this morning takes us through Arusha and onwards to the border town of Namanga where we complete the last crossing of the tour and onwards to Kenya's capital Nairobi where we bid farewell to our fellow travellers and crew.
